I am a Ph.D. Candidate in Political Science at the University of Missouri. I have an M.A in Teaching from the University of Southern California and an M.A. in International Policy Studies from (what was then) the Monterey Institute of International Studies. Prior to this, I trained at the Defense Language Institute and Goodfellow Air Force Base, then worked as an Army analyst for the National Security Agency (NSA).

My teaching and research interests focus on comparative politics and international relations. In particular, I am interested in why some governments (or government types) resort to human rights repression while others do not.
